Ibuprofen its uses and side effects

Ibuprofen



Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis and used to treat pain fever and rheumatoid arthritis.
Dose: -
Children: 5 -10 mg/kg/dose q6-8hr
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis:
30-50mg/kg/24 hr in 4 divided doses.
Adverse events:
Abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, GIT bleeding and perforation, fluid retention, edema, hypertension, tachycardia, acute renal failure.
