          Definition
          Craniostenosis is defined as premature closure of one or more of skull sutures.
          Clinical manifestations and diagnosis
Skull deformity is the direct result of the premature fusion of the sutures( Scaphocephaly- Brachycephaly-Oxycephaly)
          Palpation of the closed suture reveals a prominent bony ridge.  
           Signs of increased intracranial tension (headache, projectile vomiting, blurring of vision and papilledema) may be present.
           Convulsions may occur.
Skull X-ray
           fusion of the suture(s)
          beaten silver appearance, and wide sella turcica
Treatment
          Surgical craniectomy of the affected suture.
